According to the Hamilton Police Service, emergency crews responded to a serious collision on the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway at approximately 7 p.m. on July 8.

Investigators reported that Rayan was driving a Honda Civic when it collided with a Buick towing a utility trailer. The impact caused her vehicle to cross the grassy median into oncoming traffic, where it was struck by a tractor-trailer.

Despite the rapid response of emergency personnel, Rayan suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Hamilton Police Traffic Injury Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
