Louisville Motorcycle Accident – Man Dies After Fatal E-Scooter Crash in Louisville

Louisville, KY — Family, friends, and members of the Louisville community are mourning the tragic death of an adult man who died days after a serious e-scooter crash at the intersection of 18th Street and West Market Street.

According to Louisville Metro Police, officers responded to the crash around 10:10 p.m. on July 10 after receiving reports of an injury collision. Investigators said the man was riding an e-scooter eastbound on Market Street when he entered the intersection and failed to stop for a red light.

Police reported that the rider entered the path of a passenger vehicle traveling northbound on 18th Street with a green light. The e-scooter rider struck the driver’s side door of the vehicle and suffered critical, life-threatening injuries.

Emergency medical crews transported the injured rider to University Hospital, where he later died from his injuries on Sunday, July 12.

Authorities said the driver of the passenger vehicle was not injured, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash. Police also noted that the rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

The crash remains under investigation by the Louisville Metro Police Department’s Traffic Unit. Officials have not yet released the identity of the victim.
